There are so many different contests, and just yesterday I came across this spoon contest. Now it’s finally time to make a post, but I’m not sure if I’ll make it in time—maybe the last day only counts for half the day.

So, this contest is about spoons… and it reminds me of my childhood when I saved up a little money—probably from sandwiches, or maybe my grandparents gave me some for ice cream, but I didn’t always buy ice cream and instead saved a bit. That time, I saw a little bed on display in a shop window that shimmered with gold plating, and I wanted to buy a gold teaspoon to gift to my mom. But the saleswoman wouldn’t sell it to me—because there were two of them, and who would buy the second one? She told me to take a bigger one instead, but that one was expensive, and I didn’t have enough money back then…

And even though we have plenty of spoons at home—different promotions happen, and when you buy tea, sometimes there’s a spoon included in the set—we’ve collected quite a few of those spoons. But there was never a golden one!))

And now, I’m wondering—should I close this "gestalt"?)) Though there’s no real gestalt here, no cognitive dissonance… and it’s not something I can close now, unless I could travel back in time. I needed that specific spoon, and I needed it back then!)) I don’t even think about it now, except that the saleswoman was wrong…

As for these spoons, I bought them from the brand ARDESTO. I was buying a washing machine, and I got drawn to this brand. I bought forks, teaspoons, and tablespoons—the rest isn’t relevant right now.)) Instead of a knife set, I’ll show the chef’s knife that a friend gave me (or rather, passed on to me). They say you shouldn’t give knives as gifts—but he gave it to me because it didn’t match his set. He bought a set, and this one turned out to be extra because it didn’t fit.

I deliberately chose these simple spoons, without fancy patterns—back then, I liked these minimalist-style ones the most.
