Such dishes are often cut from a single piece of wood. And I will say for sure that this is not an easy task at all. I once tried to cut out a simple spoon, and as a result, I messed up several baklush (blanks).
Recently, there are many wooden souvenirs at fairs. Masters process them well and sometimes burn out entire paintings.
