Hello.
Those who follow my articles know that I am a mother of two cats. Both came into my life at different times and today I wanted to introduce my eldest daughter to you. Shila is not my first cat, but she is the one who stayed with me the longest. She was born in 2014, so she will be 9 years old in a few months.
I want to talk about my story of meeting her. I met with my high school friends at a common spot to meet and have a picnic. The place I was going to was 1 hour away from my house. When we went and got caught in the rain, we decided to return without pinknik and set off for home. Istanbul is a city famous for its cats and it is possible to come across them everywhere at any time. A tiny cat caught my eye as I was passing through an area where cats are busy. She was staring exhaustedly across a plate full of milk. I couldn't leave it there. Since I had nothing to carry the cat with me, I put it in one of our picnic bags, got on the bus and headed home. When I got on the bus, the smell from the cat surrounded me. It smelled so bad it smelled like a dead animal. When I got home, we decided to wash her with my friend and examine her body.
When I saw her helplessness, I started to cry and handed the task over to my friend. After washing, we noticed that her hair was less and there was a problem in her butt part. The vets were closed because it was the end of the patient. It would open the next day and I had to keep an eye on it for 1 day. The first night I couldn't sleep at all because I was so afraid that she would die. She was refusing to eat and I was feeling very helpless. Luckily she resisted and we went to the vet the next day.
The veterinarian mentioned the possibility that she would have died if she had been one more day late. Fortunately, she was lucky enough to meet me. In the detailed examination, fungus and scabies were detected on her skin. And we learned that parasites surrounded its interior. She mentioned that her treatment would be a little heavy. We came home after drugs and injections. I knew the vet said it would be tough, but I didn't know it would be this hard. The needles were so heavy that we almost lost her. She fought a lot with her tiny body.
She was very willing to live. She resisted and finally won this war. She turned out to be a playful cat after recovering from her health problems. When I found her, I was having family problems and I was in a very difficult period psychologically. As much as the cat, I was very lucky to meet her because it was very good for me mentally. It was very valuable for me to take care of her and spend time with her.
I think a person should have animals in his life. It's much better to save an animal, especially one that is in distress (like a shila). The feeling of saving at least one living thing is priceless. I am against buying pets from pet shops for a fee. It is absurd to sell a living thing for money. Especially when I think about how they produce it, my heart bleeds. I don't know how a person can turn a blind eye to this and buy animals for money. Shelters are full of millions of animals waiting to be adopted.
Shila has always enjoyed contacting me since she was a baby. That's why he always sleeps in my lap wherever and whenever he is. She was light when she was little so it was easy to carry her but now that she's a chubby cat she can choke me sometimes. :) However, this bond between us is very precious to me.
As you know, cats spend most of the day sleeping. She loves sleeping in Shila. Interestingly, she mostly likes to sleep on her back. Sometimes she passes out, as you can see above. :)
And she acts as if she has no hair on her and is cold. She likes to cover up, or rather to take shelter somewhere. She is the coy girl of our house. That's why you can see him in these positions.
When I look at old pictures, I can understand how much she has grown. While it was the size of my computer adapter, it is now much larger than that.
When I visited the city where I found Shila in the past months, I passed by the place where we met her. I stood there for a while and came back to the moment when I found him, and I was very touched. While I was standing there, another cat came and sent me her beautiful energies from where Shila was sitting.
I introduced you to my sweetest chubby cat. Ours is a sad but happy story. We are so lucky to have each other. 9 years later, another naughty girl joined us. I plan to introduce you to him in the future. For now, I leave you with the images. I think I have a lot more to tell, but I'm ending the article here because I don't want to bore you. Take care until we meet again.
