Charcoal as a medium for drawing comes in types, from hard to medium, to soft and aside the gradings, it also comes in industrial processed form and unprocessed form too.
Personally, what works for me is soft Charcoal sticks, even from the first glance they look quite natural like a burnt wood from the bush but the softness and lightness of it gets my interest at all times. It's just so lovely!

I think I am gradually gaining back my strength when I comes to make sketches day in day out but at the same time, there's so much advancement needed and I would and might need some breaks sometimes just to cool off, reflect, and reinvent!
