📷 Archiving Phone Photos

in hive-185836 •  last year

I'm terrible at keeping on top of the storage on my phone. I'm constantly being told that my iCloud storage is full and that my photos aren't being backed up.

It always feels like it's going to be a monumental task to go through them - I've got backup folders for each of my little gorillas, a folder for each nephew and niece as well as additional folders for special days out. If a photo includes more than one person of interest (which incidentally, is the name of a very good TV Series), I'll copy it to each folder, always with a suitable, chronologically labelled filename (my PC annoyingly saves the date when I copied the photo to it rather than the date the photo was taken (like my mac does)). These are then uploaded to an alternative "cloud" storage which are subsequently backed up to an external hard drive elsewhere - I've lost a lot of photos before which are sadly gone for ever 😢

So this evening, I thought I'd catch up a little bit and archive all of the photos from July 2022 and share any that I deem are interesting enough to share - no face though... you know I don't share faces.

🍓 Strawberries

Ok, maybe not the most exciting start, but I've reached the 10th July already and they're all photos of people! This would've been a single day's harvest - we had a lot of strawberry plants (which I mostly dug out this year because I didn't think they were particularly tasty) and the boys love to eat strawberries. Maybe I was too hasty in digging them up.

What's the UK's most common owl? The Tea t-owl.

Ok, this one's slightly cooler than strawberries. I've only seen the owl a couple of times and I haven't seen it this year. It's pretty cool to see it land on the wall outside our house. It's also great at scaring off annoying squirrels that come to steal my fruit and veg.

I've been spotted.

🏎️ London E-Prix

This is a post that I need to write... on 31st July 2022, I attended the London E-Prix which for non-motorsport fans, is the Electric equivalent to Formula 1. I won't share details, it's worthy of a post in its own right so I'll share with you a photo of some entertainment and some light refreshment (I wanted a souvenir cup).

With our modern phones and that we have an opportunity to capture any interesting moment in our life, we forgot how quickly the storage of our phones get full. The photo with strawberries attracted my attention, I wonder what did you do with them just eat or strawberry jam?

The owl is also very cool, it seems it has no problem being so close to human.

I didn't do much with the strawberries - I removed the stalks, cut them in half and let my boys scoff them! They love their fruit and could eat £10 worth in a single sitting (which is why I need to grow it before they bankrupt me!) Our apple trees are looking amazing this year and should give us a really good crop.

How is your strawberry crop coming along?

The owl was very cool, I'd love for it to visit more often. I took the photos from my living room so it wasn't threatened by my presence. It didn't stay for very long - just long enough for a few photos! Because of where we live, next to the South Downs, we get plenty of wildlife (a badger used to run up and down our street at night). The foxes, seagulls and crows dominate unfortunately.
