A distinctive detail for watercolors - un detalle distintivo para las acuarelas by theonlyway 🎨 (ENG/ESP)

At the end of last year I decided to improve some aspects of my passion for watercolor.

As I mentioned in one of my posts, I bought a set of Japanese watercolors that have been very interesting so far. I still bought 300gr acid-free paper to give my paintings a more aesthetic touch.

But I'm a little dissatisfied and I wanted to give my creations a more elegant touch, so it occurred to me to design a couple of stamps to engrave on my paintings.

It was a task of several days, to decide its design, shape and color. design after design where my wife and daughter Kathe were my judges.

On one occasion I read about stone seals (Hanko), these seals are the ones we can see in oriental paintings where Japanese strokes are observed which I find interesting and beautiful, giving balance to the work.

These seals are also made of wood and even animal bone, for a moment I was tempted to find a piece of wood and a knife to start making it. But I understood that it is not an easy task and it is actually an art.

But after thinking about it very well, I leaned towards the use of technology.

As a curious fact I tell you that in Japan this type of stamp is used a lot and there are places with stamp vending machines where the user chooses the stamp design, the color of the material, in this case a polymer and in a few minutes the stamp is printed .

Of course, on the other side of the planet there is no such technology, so I decided to go to a place that makes rubber stamps.

I only had to wait a couple of days to receive it from another city where there was a store that did it at a good price.

When I received it I got home and searching through my things I found this little Dutch house that I bought as an invenuil in one of the trips of my youth and I stuck it there.

As I mentioned there were two designs, but for this publication I will show only one that corresponds to the initials of my legal name.

From now on, all the works that I will give away, auction or sell will be marked with this seal that will give an elegant touch and give authenticity to each watercolor, as well as my distinctive signature.

A finales del año pasado decidí mejorar algunos aspectos de mi pasión por la acuarela.

Como comenté en uno de mis posts, adquirí un set de acuarelas japonesas que hasta el momento me han resultado muy interesantes. Igual compré papel libre de ácido de 300gr para darle un toque más estético a mis cuadros.

Pero estoy un poco insatisfecha y quería darle un toque más elegante a mis creaciones, así que se me ocurrió diseñar un par de sellos para grabar en mis cuadros.

Fue una tarea de varios días, decidir su diseño, forma y color. diseño tras diseño donde mi esposa y mi hija Kathe fueron mi jurado.

En una ocasión leí sobre sellos de piedra (Hanko), estos sellos son los que podemos ver en las pinturas orientales donde se observan trazos japoneses los cuales me parecen interesantes y hermosos, dando equilibrio al trabajo.

Estos sellos también son de madera e incluso de hueso de animal, por un momento estuve tentado de buscar un trozo de madera y un cuchillo para empezar a hacerlo. Pero entendí que no es una tarea fácil y en realidad es un arte.

Pero después de pensarlo muy bien, me incliné por el uso de la tecnología.

Como dato curioso te cuento que en Japón se usa mucho este tipo de sellos y hay lugares con máquinas expendedoras de sellos donde el usuario elige el diseño del sello, el color del material, en este caso un polímero y en unos minutos se imprime el sello.

Por supuesto, al otro lado del planeta no existe este tipo de tecnología, así que me incliné por ir a un lugar donde hacen sellos de goma.

Solo tuve que esperar un par de días para recibirlo de otra ciudad donde había una tienda que lo hacía a buen precio.

Cuando lo recibí llegué a casa y rebuscando entre mis cosas me encontré con esta casita holandesa que compré como invenuil en uno de los viajes de mi juventud y alli lo pegue.

Como mencioné eran dos diseños, pero para esta publicación mostraré solo uno que corresponde a las iniciales de mi nombre legal.

A partir de ahora, todas las obras que regalaré, subastaré o venderé estarán marcadas con este sello que dará un toque elegante y dará autenticidad a cada acuarela, además de mi firma distintiva.
