I have gone really off the underground lately and since I discovered the uber boats exist have decided to do as much of my travel on them as possible. I decided to go see my friend trying to use only the dlr and the boat.
My first problem is the only time I had used one before it was really obvious where the stop was as I stumbled across it. The one at canary wharf was much harder to find as the river splits off a few directions there, I ended up walking around for about 20 mins on various directions of straight on before meeting someone who really directed me properly. Once I got there I had missed the stop by about 2 minutes so had to wait another 20 till the next one. It definitely takes longer and is a mode of transport that needs to be done with a more chill time frame. It did give me chance to grab a coffee from the cafe right next door.
Whilst looking for it I saw these awesome boats again at canary wharf, they are little hot spas in boats that float around on the river. They are around £150 but not too bad if 6 of you, want to have a go sometime.
After what did feel like ages I managed to catch up with my friend and her new baby I haven't seen since before the first lockdown. All in all I will say with getting lost and getting off at the wrong stop that took a bit longer to walk from, I think once you learn the ropes a bit it's by far the best way to get around in London.
Since the boat is quite a way back, it comes with a lot more walking depending on your location, in this case about 30 minutes. I got to walk around London a little, looking at a few of the central London touristy spots you never actually look at when you live there like Buckingham Palce and the Houses of Parliament.
