Infinite, I've eaten your vast
sorrow & its bird picks open my
oesophagus. You invited me, tangled
in umbilicus, to this finite space
to wander the cold core of your
truth. I know the slash of light
cutting through wall, bone & bed.
You abandoned me. I see shadows,
faint as memory, gaunt shapes,
skeletal as ashes. They walk in
step, chain linked, heads bowed.
They flow like water, in silent
current into the hungry maw, the
gasping jaw of giant edifices bright
as fire & gold. Is this the
paradise of living? Take me back
then! Take me, infinite, into the
abysmal amnesia of your embrace.
Let me forget every single warm
torture of laughter & breath. Why
did you give me the solemn flower,
the folding sea, the rolling land,
the dancing trees? To deceive me
from the trauma wrecking those
forbidding shapes, twisted into
caricatures of beauty? You're cruel
with your mercy. Take me into
silence. Take me into deafness.
Take me into the faraway distance
of the universe where stones mutter
for aeons, settling into their
acceptance of abandonment.
This is just a cosmic sigh
Always,
Osahon (warpedpoetic)
