I am entering this image of an old, dry, almost dead carob tree in the contest. Back in the day the countryside of Ibiza had this type of Mediterranean tree as one of the most common, but since the arrival of tourism in the sixties of the last century, the countryside has been gradually abandoned and now the vast majority of the old cultivated fields are neglected. As a result of this neglect we can see how these carob, almond and olive trees are dying out due to lack of care, some of them drying up completely as can be seen in this image.

Presento al concurso esta imagen de un algarrobo viejo y seco, se puede decir que casi muerto. En su día la campiña ibicenca tenía a este tipo de árbol mediterráneo como uno de los más comunes, pero desde la llegada del turismo en la década de los sesenta del siglo pasado, el campo se ha ido abandonando poco a poco y ahora la gran mayoría de los antiguos campos de cultivo están desatendidos. Fruto de ese abandono vemos como estos algarrobos, almendros y olivos, se van apagando por falta de cuidados, llegando algunos a secarse completamente como bien se puede ver en esta imagen.
