Winter on the edge of the forest. Simple pastel drawing in half an hour

Pastel is an amazing artistic tool for creativity. In fact, these are pressed crayons with the addition of a concentrated multi-colored pigment, exactly the same as is added to oil, watercolor or acrylic paints. The technique of drawing with pastels is interesting. You can apply both thin (with the corner of the chalk) and wide lines (if you put the chalk sideways). There are inexpensive sets of pastels with 12-18 crayons, but you can find huge boxes on sale, where the number of crayons is from 60 to 200 pieces.
One of the advantages of drawing with pastels is that the drawings are easily corrected, that is, if you did something wrong, you can erase or cover it with another layer of the drawing.
If you still haven't gotten around to drawing with pastels, I strongly recommend that you do so. If you drew with colored pencils as a child, be sure that you will definitely make friends with pastels! : )

По сути, это прессованные мелки с добавлением концентрированного разноцветного пигмента, точно такого же, какой добавляется в масляные, акварельные или акриловые краски. Интересная сама техника рисования пастелью. Можно наносить, как тонкие (уголком мелка), так и широкие линии (если положить мелок боком). Существуют недорогие наборы пастели с 12-18 мелками, но можно отыскать в продаже огромные коробки, где количество мелков от 60 до 200 штук.
Одним из плюсов рисования пастелью является то, что рисунки легко правятся, то есть если вы что-то сделали не так, можно стереть или перекрыть ещё одним слоем рисунка.
Если вы до сих пор не добрались до рисования пастелью, настоятельно рекомендую это сделать. Если вы в детстве рисовали цветными карандашами, будьте уверены, с пастелью вы обязательно подружитесь! : )

I love oil pastel. Somehow it looks like both oil and watercolor painting at the same time. Unfortunately, I'm too afraid to try it out.

Hi! I also love oil pastels, but this drawing is made with dry pastels. The main thing in drawing is not to be afraid of anything, you just need to understand that the maximum that we can lose in case of failure is another piece of paper. And the skill of drawing develops over time. Practice, and practice again)
