Education is the key to success but how do we achieve it all without any hindrances. Education is a must for every citizen in the country. When everyone has the right to school why are some stopped from schooling when it's their right to most especially the females.

Many parents believe that girls have to take care of the home and provide money for the family, therefore, they have to go out to strive hard to earn income. They think that this is the best a girl can do for the family so rendering the the unopportunity to take part in education.

There are several factors that restrict the girl from schooling ranging from the cultural, social and economic reasons why they shouldn't be educated. The following are causes of girl child Education in Ghana.

Traditional beliefs

Many parents feel money invested in girls' education is a waste of money so boys are rendered the opportunity to school. In the traditional sector girls are seen as less important when it comes to education, their position in the family is to learn how to take care of the family so as to become better wife's in the future. Their roles are to procreate in the kitchen and not the classroom.

Over burden girls with house hold chores.

Over burden girls with house hold chores is also a reason why girls are unable to school or have proper and undisturbed education. There is little time for school and also little time for then to spend on their books as well. These girls have to spend time at the market and also help the home with cooking hence have less time to concentrate on their books and homeworks.

Gender stereotyping both at school and at homes, at school, girls are considered less intelligent as compared to boys and in most textbooks can testify to these about boys being smarter and intelligent than girls. Girls do house chores whilst boys are outside playing. The boys have enough time for themselves as compared to the girls when it comes to the aspect of education and social life.

Lack of role models

Lack of role models in the school and at home. Many girls seem to be the first born to their families and to attend school. This especially happens more in the remote areas, northern Region. Most of their parents never attended school so they have no one to look up to that will give then the zeal to continue their education. Most of these school are much congested with the male teachers and this mostly result in the child harassment by these male teachers, since they don't want to be harassed sexually the best solution given to them is school drop out.

Girl child Education is very key that's why many NGOs and Civil Society Organization has some out drastically to ensure that many of our sisters are educated. UNICEF is one of the best NGOs who has come to the aid of our sisters to send them back to school with all the necessary support they need.
Also CAMFED is an organization that has also come to take care of the girl child education. They only play a role in the girl child education. There are more of these organizations that has come to the aid of the females in terms of education. Even we the individuals can help in making lives of the young girls in the villages better.
