Hello steem Ghana !

I'm glad to be alive with you all here, and this is my entry post for the culture contest organized by @nattybongo. Before I begin, let me tell you a little bit about my tribe.

Bandafo) is the popular name they call us in Ghana, but we are also known locally as jorgorya or weila. The name jorgorya refers to where we come from, which is the Jordan River. In 1601 our forefathers appeared in Ghana in between two mountains called kunasie in the Bono Region of Ghana, where they settled and established Berghor, one of the largest markets that ever existed in the world. One day, a stranger named Samori Toure, one of the ancient African fighters, came to the market with his troupe looking for fish (NAM) in the market and didn't find any, so they had to dance to the gods with horse tails while the people of Banda shouted ooooh ewuradi nam nu asa, from which the community got its current name NAMASA.

BANDA KURUBI CULTURE DANCE

Kurubi Dance is performed on the 27th day of Ramadan, the culture begins in the evening, and it is used to celebrate females who have been chaste until that day, there is a rule that females who are not virgins do not climb the structure, if they do they will be barren forever.

THE CULTUREDAY 1 EVENING

All the males in the community go to the forest to bring home straight woods that can be erected to create a structure called "APATA" which the females will climb and perform the culture to honor their families for staying virgins their entire lives.

MEN AT WORK

The same evening, all families present their daughters to the queen mother of Namasa, who will take them to a river called “Aminakadi,” which means “collect it for me,” where they will pour libation and ask the lords to give out their Jewelry to their pure daughters for the culture dance. After the libation, all the girls leave the river, leaving the Abusuapanin and obaapanin.
It is believe that there is a small hole where they will go and find several Jewelry home.

THE CULTURE DAY 2

Early in the morning, the ladies dress up and go to the durbar ground, where they climb the structure mounted by the men and dance to traditional music. For the dancing, they usually hold a horse tail called "sooko or Bodua" in their hands and tie a kente cloth to cover their breast down to their ankle, and powder is used to design their body.

LADIES DANCING ON THE APATA

The rationale behind this culture is to protect our girls from pre-marital sex and present them to the men in the society on the culture day, usually among the male who finds a girl he wants to marry will bring a GTP cloth presented by his sisters they use the cloth to hit the girl up from the structure, and before this happens it means both the guy and the girls had already agreed to get married,, and this shall be the last day the girl will be part of the culture dance.

DRUMMERS

The culture concludes during the day before the sun rises, when we all take the chiefs to his palace and disperse to our various homes, which leads to our eating time, and we prepare for EID-ul Fitr the next day.

This festival is celebrated by two tribes in Ghana, the WEILA (JORGORYA) and WANGARA, whose ancestors hail from the same father, and this year's own is yet to happen on the 27th night of Ramadan, so I invite you all to come witness my beautiful culture below is a YouTube video of the actual dance.
