Let’s begin with a word of appreciation and gratitude to all our loved ones and supporters who have been with us thus far and continue to support us along the way.
In our previous post we mentioned a pediatric screening for school children which was scheduled for the weekend that has just passed.
Well today we are happy to announce that the outreach was in all a huge success and the attendance was amazing and exciting.
We had a total of 250 kids participating in the activity which is a very good start for the future planned activities. About 30% had one of the 3 refractive errors and need further examination outside the school environment.
Some fewer number had suspicious retinal changes including suspicious discs which needed further examination to conclude, a dilated fundus exams would be warranted
The rest were all healthy and had normal good vision which is actually something great that we are happy to write about owing to the fact that refractive errors can have lots of detrimental effect on academic performance.
We had team of 8 volunteers helping to get the work done including our leader @nattybongo. Volunteers were fed and transported to and from the location of the exercise. It was truly exciting indeed and we must express our gratitude once again. Thank you and we look forward to to been able to do more
You had a great day. Thats great
And for the fact that your team helped out that was really cool
