Chocolate is a food that is usually brown in color and can be made into many shapes. It is eaten by all age groups at all times of the year but mostly during Valentine's Day. Various research has proved that chocolate is very essential to the human body and the following paragraphs are to elaborate on these benefits.
High-quality dark chocolate that constitutes a high cocoa content is there very beneficial to the body as it contains nutrients such as iron, magnesium, copper, and manganese. All these have their individual functions which positively contribute to the healthy growth and development of the body.
Functions of the brain such as attention, memory, perception, decision making, and problem-solving all require good brain health for effective execution, thankfully chocolate contains an extract called levado which prevents the decline of the brain’s functions and therefore promotes good memory retention at old age.
The daily consumption of an ounce of chocolate during a gestation period of a female can benefit the growth of the fetus and enhance its development. This is according to a study presented during the 2016 pregnancy meeting of the Society of maternal medicine in Atlanta.
