The Diary Game: Something About My Journey. life in Côte d'Ivoire

It has already been an exciting few days in a new land. I took me 2 days to get to my final destination and I had to manuver my way through the night in the city of Abidjan which is the capital of Côté d'Ivoire. I found that people slept at the station to await the next morning to continue their journey to wherever they are heading too so I joined the squad. It was either to blend in and be normal or to find a hotel and pay 10000cfa plus for the night.

I found a New Yorker at the station who was going to Benin the next morning. He in fact introduced himself to me when he overheard my conversation with a native who was conversant with the English language. The New Yoker is the only guy who could speak English fluently so thanks to him.

It is 12:30am, I slept on one of the metalic chairs at the station with my head on my backpack. Women and little children also slept there with the place almost packed.

I don't think people do not really sleep in this city. The streets are busy even through the night. Easy to locate Pub's and clubs at almost every corner of the street. Street vendors also sell food and water through the night to the next morning I believe. I have inhaled too much smoke from cigarettes in two days than I have in my life time. Lol. It's very common to find young guys smoking.

The streets are clean and the highway are huge enough to accommodate 3 to 5 Lanes on each side.

Sometimes, I eat akyeke with meat or tilapia. Thought I should capture this too.

And I spend some night watching movies. Day time is for talking business with my friends.
