I was part of the exchange of knowledge even though all was not well.

The 8th of March in Cameroon is usually celebrated as Women's day, and on this day, the women celebrate their empowerment in society. The women also celebrate their accomplishments, jubilating and feeling proud and happy of their achievments, as a great percentage of women in my country today own jobs in different works of life.
Yesterday 12th March 2021 I join as a panelist in discussion

My presentation carried some tips on ground about our work.

In terms of women's rights, the women in my country have gained emancipation and empowerment as they are now able to own businesses and get lucrative jobs across the country.

My own connection.

Also, the women have gained the right to educatiom and they have benefited greatly from this by upgrading their standards of life, and having a voice in decion making in society.
Moreso, the violence against women in Cameroon which was very rampant before, has been reduced. It might not have stopped completely, but it is now managed and women whose rights are violated have the right to report and justice given to them.
I prepared but could not present but sent to them.

In Cameroon, some women are mistreated at their jobsites, not because they do not do a good job, but merely because they are female. The discrimination of women in work places has sometimes led to an uneven share of salary between males and females in a work place.
Furthermore, violence againt women still persists in Cameroom and even though it is almost silent, it is a cry for help. Most often, women are dismissed in police stations when they repory cases of violence against them or sexual harassment, sometimes they are not even taken seriously.

It is important to fight for women's rights in the world because protecting women's rights makes the world a better place. According to the UN," Gender equality and the empowerment of women is not just a goal in itself, but a key to sustainable development..."
Empowered women contribute to the productivity and growth of their families, and countries.
My Colleague from Yemen in the same network was very passionate,

Also, fighting for women's rights also creates awareness to young girls and women around the world, who do not yet know what they deserve, what is their rights.

Because of challenges in live talks I participated in email sharing.

I was asked questions

Yes.
What are the obstacles to reducing incidents of sexual and gender based violence and intimate partner violence?
Lack of sensitization, inadequate government policy to fight against gender based violence.

Yes, because it may lead to stigmatization and the victims may shy away from other social activities.
Alot of actors and stakeholders serve to encourage prevention of sexual and gender based violence, and intimate partner violence and we continued discussions on that.
