Parents sometimes have to deal with children's tantrums, when the baby stomps his feet, throws all the things in his hands, and cries as if he is being punished. This behavior may also be accompanied by aggression, and the child will try to "hit" the adult, then it seems that your educational measures are not working at all.

It is difficult for children under 3 years of age to express their feelings, since the child's speech is still very poorly developed.

Tantrums in a baby are already possible in the first year of his life. Under the age of three, a child is not always able to control his or her emotions.

Typically, hysterical children spend too much time around all sorts of gadgets such as TV or a tablet, as well as do not follow the daily routine, which makes them feel tired, sleep-deprived, and possibly hungry. Such children become more nervous during or after an illness. In addition to all of the above, the cause of aggression and temper tantrums in a child may be due to the peculiarities of the nervous system, and his excessive excitability and short temper.

Parents can make the situation worse by their own mistakes. This manifests itself in aloofness or constant criticism of the child, because of which he or she experiences a lack of parental attention. The flip side of this coin is the overprotection of the child when he is deprived of the right to have his own experience. Young parents are often inconsistent in their demands of the baby, demonstrating either authoritarian or overly compliant behavior.

What tantrums are like?

Psychologists distinguish two types of tantrums:

1. Temper tantrums, which help defuse emotional tension;

2. Manipulative tantrums, which help a toddler control, other people.

Children from birth to 3 years of age show aggression directed at themselves when parents forbid them to do something. The child is not yet aware that it is possible to react differently to its negative experiences. Therefore, in case of a ban, the child swings at the adult, and when the latter expresses dissatisfaction, starts to beat himself or herself. Young children are not yet able to control and adequately express their emotions.

The aggression of an older toddler manifests itself in attacking other children and adults. The toddler is deliberately rude. This is a "fidgety," pugnacious, and rude child who uses this method of protest less and less as he grows older.

How should I behave if my baby has a tantrum?

Proper adult behavior during a child's tantrums or aggression is very important.

Here are some tips:

1. Don't argue with a toddler who doesn't realize anything anyway.

2. Don't yell, because it is your anger that can make your child's anger even stronger.

3 Hug your baby, talk to him/her in a calmer voice, switching his/her attention to another object.

4 Don't wait for your baby to calm down on his or her own.

Often your baby's aggression and tantrums are an indicator of the emotional state of an adult who is significant to the baby. Therefore, the most important thing is to learn to release your own anger. In such cases, it is very important for adults to cope with their aggression and hold on to their negative emotions. This will be the best help for your baby.
