Nail time (step by step edition)

If i had green pastel gel polish i would use that one, but i don't have so this shade was my next choice.

It's an easy nail design actually and it didn't take too long for completing it. The tip for this design is of not taking too much product on the brush, but is better of keep adding some product on the nail rather than using the product all in once.

Products that i used:

  • base/non wipe top coat
  • green gel polish
  • silver flash gel polish
  • a wide brush (for example that one for the builder gel)
  • the smaller dotting tool
  • a palette for mixing the colours
  • a tip

First i applied the base coat and i cured it in the LED lamp for 30 seconds.

Then i applied one layer of the green gel polish and i cured it.

I applied and a second layer and i cured it.

That green requires and a 3rd layer, but in this case i did the design so it's the same thing because i applied all over the surface of the tip, so that's fine. In the other hand though, if i did the design on the half surface, then i should add and a 3rd layer of the green gel polish.

Then on my palette i put a line of the green gel polish, then the silver flash gel polish and then the green gel polish. So basically i did 3 lines next to each other without any gap.

I should apply less colour to each line.

Then with the dotting tool, i mixed just a little the colours. And then with my wide brush i took some of the mixing and then i applied on the tip.

Whatever you have on your palette, that's that you'll get as design on your nail.

Then with my brush i took some of the mixing colours and i tried to apply them as lines but not too straight.

This is the biggest amount of the colours, because if it's more, then it's possible of putting too much colour in one spot and it won't be able to cure it eventually and you'll have to remove it. But before you actually cure it, you can go back and remove as much as you can without destroying the design though. It isn't difficult to save it, but it will take more time.

Without flash.

With flash.

Btw i shouldn't use the flash gel polish as marble, because it didn't work as i was expecting. Simple colours, or even glitter colours are great for this design, but flash gel polishes are only for full background coverage, thin lines or details on an already existing nail design.

I found this video on Youtube because i wanted to show you how i did it. I used two colours though but you can work with more than two, it's up to you.
