It delighted me to be with you again, hoped you all had a wonderful weekend, mine was fun and I wish you all an amazing new week ahead. Dear ladies today I will be taking part in our beloved community latest contest, about healthy recipes. Thank you @steemwomensclub for organizing a creative contest like, truly this Contest is timely because a lot of us are facing different types of health issues, due to the fact that we live in a sick world and sometimes it may be due to what we eat, this contest will help us to know, some healthy foods, snacks and drinks we can make at home to replace those junk food that causes disease. Foods that will boost our immunity, and protect us from diseases.

For lovers of crunchy snacks, today I will tell you how to make healthy crunchy dessert 🍪 from cassava. But first of all let me hint you a bit about nutritional value of cassava, Cassava is rich in VIT C, it has countless antioxidants that helps in fighting disease, it support collagen and help it straightening immunity, it's rich in Mineral like copper. It's free from gluten, it has numerous other health benefits, apart from the aforementioned.

As I said before I made a yummy crunchy dessert🍪 with cassava, it is called akara iwa in my language and cassava cake in english
It is a native dessert of Akwaibom people Nigeria, but I invite all lovers of crunchy desserts to come here.

INGREDIENTS:

Cassava500g
Seasoning cubes4cubes
Palm oil100mil
Vegetable oil1litre
Fresh pepperto taste
Black pepperto taste
Onionone big glove
Saltto taste
Ginger10g
Garlic10g

preparation

  • peal and wash the cassava

  • grate the cassava

  • use sifter bag to sift out the water until it's dry as shown below:

  • chop your onions and keep aside
  • grate the ginger and garlic and keep aside
  • add small amount of palm oil and mixed it with your hands
  • add the chopped onions, grated ginger and garlic, salt and seasoning cubes and mix together to taste.

  • mold the paste to form a flat shape as shown below:

  • put frying pan on fire and add vegetable oil to it, allow it heat to 30° C
  • use your frying fork to carry the molded paste and put in the oil to fry

  • leave it for some minutes, then use the frying fork to turn the dessert to the other side
  • allow it for some minutes so that it will be crunchy. Be checking and remove it when you get your desire texture.
  • Boom your desserts is ready to be served!

You can take it as breakfast with custard, or coffee, it's so yummy and tasty, u need to give it a try and thank me later.
