Hello beautiful women of @steemwomensclub. I made one of Nigeria's signature dishes and I decided it was a great idea to share with my fellow foodie women all over the world.
Nigerian jollof or as it is popularly called "jellof rice" is a dish that is loved by almost all Nigerians. It is cooked in almost all homes and its is one dish you expect in every ceremony or occasion here in Nigeria.
INGREDIENTS
PROCEDURES
♡ Wash rice with cold water and put in a clean pot add water and let it boil for 10 minutes.
♡ Wash the veggies and cut them finely.
♡ Wash the pepper and grind them together with the crayfish.
♡ When the rice has boiled for 10 minutes, turn off the heat and strain the remaining water from the rice.
♡ Place back the pot on fire, let the water dry then add the vegetable oil.
♡ Next add the onions and fry for a minute.
♡ Add the thyme to release its flavour.
♡ Add the tomato paste and fry for 2 minutes, make sure you stir continuously to avoid sticking to the pot.
♡ Next add curry, stir and pour little water into the pot. Let it boil for a minute.
♡ Add the grinded pepper and crayfish, cook for a minute then add enough water that will cook the rice.
♡ Add the seasoning powder and cubes and cover the pot. Let the sauce boil.
♡ Once the water has boiled, pour in the rice add salt then cover the pot for the food to cook.
♡ After about 10 minutes, check if the water has dried or if the rice is soft enough for you. If not, adjust the water the way you want.
♡ The last thing you pour in is the diced carrots and green beans.
And we're done.
Thanks for cooking with me. 🥰🥰
