Greetings everyone @steemwomensclub today I will share with you all some measures we can take to protect our kidneys. Our health is our wealth.

The kidneys assist the body in excreting waste in the form of urine. They also cleanse blood before it is returned to the heart.

Functions of the Kidney

  • Ensuring fluid balance in general

  • Regulating and filtering minerals from the blood by removing waste materials obtained from food, medications, and toxic substances

  • The kidney secrets hormones that produces red blood cells, also makes our bone healthy, and helps regulate our blood pressure

A healthy kidney makes a healthy human being. Your body will filter and expel waste properly, as well as produce hormones that will help your body function properly, if you keep your kidneys healthy.

Here are a few suggestions to keep your kidneys in good shape.

  • Regular Exercise
There are countless of reasons why Regular exercise is good for your health. Regular exercise has the potential to reduce the risk of chronic kidney disease. It can also lower blood pressure and improve heart health, both of which are crucial in preventing kidney damage.

Exercises such as taking a long walk, jogging, riding bicycles, and even dancing are of great benefits to your health. Find a fun activity that will keep you occupied. It will be much easier to stay on track and achieve great results.

  • Keep your sugar levels under control

You reduce the risk of damage if you can keep your blood sugar under control. Your doctor can also take steps to reduce or prevent further damage if the damage is detected early.

Because when your kidneys are forced to work extra hard to filter your blood when your body's cells can't use the glucose (sugar) in your blood. This can result in life-threatening damage after years of exertion.

  • Eat Healthy diet
Kidney damage can be reduced by eating a healthy diet low in sodium, processed meats, and other kidney-damaging foods. Focus on fresh, naturally low-sodium ingredients like cauliflower, blueberries, fish, whole grains, and more.

  • Always stay Hydrated
Drinking plenty of water regularly is good for your kidney.

Water aids in the removal of sodium and toxins from the kidneys. It also reduces your chances of developing chronic kidney disease.

  • Keep track of how many painkillers you're taking.

You may be causing kidney damage if you take over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers on a regular basis. If you take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for chronic pain, headaches, or arthritis on a regular basis, you risk damaging your kidneys.

Water is the best beverage for kidney health because it provides the fluids your kidneys require while avoiding sugar, caffeine, and other additives that are harmful to your kidneys. If you want to have a healthy kidney, drink four to six glasses of water each day.
