GREETINGS BEAUTIFUL LADIES!
Hi, This is Nabanita, from India. Today, I will share one of the most important days of my life with you beautiful ladies. It was a very eventful as well as productive day as I got my first dose of Vaccination done. Vaccination program in our country had been rolled out back in January for middle-aged and elderly people and most recently, for us 18+ so, I couldn't wait any longer to get it.
Yesterday night, finally I was able to get an appointment in a hospital which is 55Kms away from my home. It is in the nearest metropolitan city to my hometown. Due to lockdown, public transportation is not largely accessible, so, I was wondering how I would manage to visit the vaccination center in the first place.
Local train is the main medium of transport from my hometown to the city and it wasn't accessible for common commuters because of lockdown. Only rail and essential service employees can use it. Me being none of them, there was a fainter chance that I would be fined.
Let's cut to the morning of 5th June. I got up early, freshened up, and had my breakfast. The breakfast was heavy because I had to travel for 2hours minimum to reach the hospital. Additionally, the whole vaccination process would require a long time so, I got myself prepared.
I packed my bag with money, water, headphone, and required documents to travel and gathered the courage to get on the train finally! And Yes, No one prevented me from traveling as I had the vaccination appointment with me.
It was a hustle-free journey to the city but the scorching heat of June was unbearable. I reached my destination station in approx 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Here is a snap I took of the platform.
After stepping outside the station, I have been greeted with empty streets which are usually busy on normal days. I couldn't find any viable public transport option to reach the hospital so I asked my boyfriend to give me a ride to the hospital. He lives in the city so he came by to help me.
After a ride of 7kms, We reached the vaccination center. The area was beautiful, calm, and full of greenery.
After reaching the spot, We have been greeted with chaos. people were disorganized, a conundrum was going on in front of the entrance. The crowd management by the authorities wasn't up to the mark so people eventually lost control.
I somehow managed to get inside and then I had to wait a bit in the queue for getting my serial token. I took the token and paid for the vaccine. I had to pay 950 INR(Indian Rupees) or 13 USD after subsidization.
Finally, I was given Oxford Astrazeneca Covishield vaccine. Unfortunately, I couldn't manage to get a picture of me getting the shot as they didn't allow photography inside the vaccination room and the staff and doctors were very busy so I didn't want to waste their valuable time.
After the shot, I was put into observation for 15 minutes, and eventually, I didn't have any issues, they asked me to leave if I felt alright.
I came outside and we hung out in the garden for a while. We took some pictures of the surrounding area's flowers, trees and Greenery.
From there we went to the nearest Pizza shop to have something to eat. We finally met after a gap of 1 month so we had to celebrate it! What else can be better than celebrating with Pizza and some cold drinks!
After spending some time together he dropped me at the station and I took the train to my hometown. Reached my home at 10.30 pm. I was very tired after a long day so I quickly fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed after freshening up. It was a long-waited event and I was really satisfied with the way it turned out to be.
Thank you so much for reading this far. I really appreciate the support and engagement this community offers for us. I would encourage everyone to consult with doctors and get the COVID-19 vaccine to get back to normal life again.
