I always thought I would have a nice and kind mother-in-law. Most people probably thought so, and like me, they were wrong. Of course, I'm half joking, half serious. My mother-in-law's not that bad. I can say that 70 % is okay. There were good times with her as well as bad. Of course, it is better never to live with in-laws in your life, because in a marriage there is no need for third parties.

The biggest problems with my mother-in-law were the smallest problems. I'll tell you exactly what it is. When my brother-in-law and I went out for a beer or just to talk, my mother-in-law always thought we were doing something wrong. I had no idea what she was thinking or what was in her head.

My mother-in-law is also a very religious person. On the one hand, it is good, on the other hand, it is not, because it is too religious. It also depends on how you look at it. That's the problem, because I don't always have time to go to church, and I just don't like going to church. I am a person who prays at home and I do not need the church for this. But everyone thinks differently. She often imposes her "values" on me and wants me to follow her rules.

We've had a few fights in our lives. A few big ones, a few small ones, but we were always able to agree. Now, after a few years, I find myself getting along with her better than ever. Maybe it's because of the earlier fights. It helps us to understand each other better and to know how to behave towards each other. I think so.

To get along with the mother-in-law, as well as with any other person, you just need a little understanding and empathy. Do not be guided by emotions, talk rationally.
