The benefits of visualisation cannot be overemphasized. It helps you have a clear mental picture of what you really want to achieve.

Research shows that when you visualise your goals, there are greater possibilities of attaining them.

For this article, I'll give you a glimpse of the mental picture of my goals. There are broken down into 5 major areas – community service, work, national service, health, and personal life.

Here are the 5 things I wish to do before I die.

• Community Service

My dream is to be well established that I own an orphanage or a scheme that supports bright less privileged children through school.

As someone who's been through secondary and tertiary schools on scholarship myself, I've come to appreciate this privilege and wish to help others as well. It's one of the reasons why I work hard every day.

Hopefully, I'll be able to be a benefactor too. Someday.

• Work

I want to be a certified member of the International Association of Professional Writers and Editors (IAPWE) or any other competent writers association. There is no major reason though. Probably to get the license. I have done a couple of research. You can suggest one too if you know any.

• National Service

I want to serve my nation as a corp member.

First, it is mandatory for every Nigerian living in Nigeria.

Second, it gives me the chance to reside in a new place, learn more about their culture, and encourage the idea of unity in diversity.

To qualify for this, I'll need to earn my first degree. I'm currently in school but will be rounding up soon.

I want to witness scientists find the best way to eliminate mosquitoes from the surface of the earth, particularly the female anopheles mosquito that causes malaria.

If you have lived in Nigeria, then you will understand how deadly malaria is. It is the second most common disease that can be contracted after typhoid. 1 out of 2 people in every household is diagnosed with malaria quarterly.

It has claimed the lives of many people, mostly children. And has led to the abuse of malaria drugs because people administer these drugs to themselves once they start experiencing any of its symptoms.

A clean environment is never enough to wade off malaria.

• Personal Life

I want to travel to Paris and Kuala Lumpur. I have always imagined visiting one of these places for my honeymoon.

I want to meet real French people, eat their food, view their art, dance to their music, and last but not least, ask them why French fries aren't even French.

My boyfriend says we'll go there someday if we can make enough money. Which is why I'm determined to work hard. So when next you meet me on Steemit, remember that this is another of my major motivations.
