Everyone has experienced anxiety once upon a time. For someone like me, it happens often.
But like my sister would say, what matters is how you react when they happen. Do I let it control me or I use that as an opportunity to forge ahead with my plan.

Experiencing anxiety is a common thing that happens once in a while triggered by various situations.
One of the things that causes my anxiety is public speaking. The pressure to communicate effortlessly in front of an audience can be overwhelming.
For someone who is a freelancer, being bound with deadlines also causes me anxiety especially when I have a high volume of work to be completed within a short timeframe. I might worry a lot about meeting the expectations and deliver quality results.
Before, I used to worry about meeting and talking with new people at an event.
How do you deal with this feeling?
When I experience anxiety, it takes quite some time to get my bearings. Some processes has helped me manage these anxieties.
I try to do things that will make me happy at the moment and take my mind off the situation at hand such as
- Listening to music
- Watching some comedies.
- See a TV show
- Talk to a friend or my sister.
Doing these things help me deal with anxiety.
Some tips to avoid suffering from anxiety.
It better to always avoid situations that that puts you in one in the first place, by taking a walk away from it. Taking a walk and breathing in fresh air relieves my mind, breathing
I practice mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing exercises and meditation, which helps me stay grounded and focused in the present moment, reducing feelings of anxiety. This also help avoid the anxiety from escalating to something more serious.
Another thing I don't joke with in situations like this is food. I don't know about others but I love my food, though a balanced one. When I'm hungry, especially if I'm going to be in a place that tends to trigger the anxiety, it increases, so I avoid it at all cost.
Talking to a trusted friend, family member, about your feelings of anxiety can provide valuable support when you are feeling such.
Set realistic goals that you know you can achieve without pressure. One major thing that pushes us into anxiety is taking on more than we can chew. Taking on numerous tasks, which might overwhelm you in the end.
Always establish boundaries. Learn to say no when necessary and set boundaries in your personal and professional life. Doing this can help reduce stress and anxiety.
