Contest: My Best Trip Of The Year

Greetings everyone, I am much happy to share my contest with you all in this very community. The year 2024 was actually a great one for me, family and friends. Traveling around or to tourists centres can also be beneficial to we the humans.
Traveling is an act of sightseeing another environment, here it can be within your home town, states or country. I have not been outside the country yet but wishing to do so before this very year runs out.
My best travel in the year 2024 was in the middle of the year, it was actually a long and adventurous one. Before that very travel to my maternal home, have been longing to pay a visit there just to see people who cared as a kid over there.

My best travel of the year happened within the year, it was actually one to tour around the village and to get farm produce before going back. After my grandmother's burial we didn't pay visit down there anymore because she was actually the last reason we do visit. My grandmother left cultivated lands, farm produce and other essential assets for the children so my mom do pay farmers to plant and harvest the land for her. We moved in the evening from our home to itam park junction to use a commercial vehicle at once, my siblings were all happy and ready to meet people in the village after a very long run. The cost of boarding a vehicle to the village went high and we had that in mind so we kept more cash for that. Boarded a commercial to ikot ekpene park and it was dark already and that alone will also increase the price to pick vehicle to the village.
We moved out of the park to the street to check a cost cheaper vehicle, we stood there for long before seeing a good Samaritan who even carried us with no charges to the village. It was already 8pm when we reached the oduk town being my grandfather's village first, our plan is to continue the journey to my grandma's house in the morning. We stayed till morning attending burial of our close relative before preparing to move out to our grandma's village. We reached mbiaku after 20minutes ride, it was actually a long one for us. We meet known people around, reaching out to people with tokens and cash too.

Why was it your best trip?
It was actually my best trip because we all had long plans to visit my grandmother's village for over 6years but we couldn't due to some issues. We moving out as a family to the village was actually one of the greatest thing in our lives and also reaching out to people in that environment. Growing as a kid, I was there with grandma during my holiday. I can remember when I had measles, those people around the environment helped me to battle the illness. I will forever be grateful so reaching out to them again was actually one of my greatest dream coming to pass.

Share with us some special moments during this trip, that you will always remember

We created special and great moments during our little stay there, it was just like a tour to us because we walked around the streets and villages to see for ourselves places and have fun too. After attending the burial, we branched our grandfather joint popularly known as Ata Ase Mpat which means as you're consuming check your pockets if you're money filled. We took chilled palmy with dog meats it was truly one of our best sessions there. We met grannies our the village getting abundant prayer of blessings from them not only that they served us with food and drinks.
We went to the mill, to see for ourselves how palm oil is processed. It was truly adventurous for us because we got alot, shared gifts and also learnt some oil processing activities.

We had alot of fun, I won't lie during our little vacation to the village. Seeing our closed ones in good health is actually more than fun. The trip is one of the best for me because I actually what I couldn't in many years also going to say a big thank you people who helped me through when I was sick. We went through old pictures in my grandma's house having joy in our heart, it was a great session for us because we laughed out our sorrow. The meals there were too incomparable because of its delicious taste.
