Chasing the Morning Sun in Dieng Village

Hello Travelers, it is again my pleasure to share my very interesting travel experience, I hope you can also enjoy.

In accordance with the plan of departing from Yogyakarta around 1 am, my colleagues and I traveled from Yogyakarta to Dieng located in Wonosobo Regency, Central Java which would take approximately 4 hours, our goal is to see the sunrise view which is said to be very exotic, we want to prove and feel it.

Fighting sleepiness, we drove through road after road that we had never traveled before. The driver tried to keep the speed up so that we could reach Dieng on time, even though the weather conditions were a little rainy. The altitude we would reach was 2090 meters above sea level.

In the middle of the trip we stopped at a mini market to buy drinks and a few pieces of bread to fill our stomachs and relax for a moment on the seats provided in front of the mini market, maybe there were about 15 minutes we sat until we felt ready to continue our journey.

The winding and uphill road we had to take, upon arrival at the gate of the welcome sign and it was around 5 am. we thought we had arrived at the peak location, it turned out that it was just a car stop, so to get to the peak location we had to walk a distance of about 1 kilo meter.

But we wanted to save energy, so we hired an ojek to take us. After getting off the ojek, we still hadn't reached the main location, which had to be walked step by step. Coupled with the very cold temperature, because according to information, the temperature in Dieng can reach 10 degrees Celsius at night.

Along the road seen from the right and left of the road is a hilly topography planted with vegetable crops such as potatoes, cabbage, carrots, beans and onions. Most of the people's profession in Dieng is as farmers and they also make certain preparations from garden products that are packaged into special foods.

Darkness was falling, so we had to speed up our pace to get to the main peak. It wasn't easy, the uphill path with small steps we had to pass with all our might, was very breathless and our legs ached beyond measure, when fatigue struck then the option was to stop and drink three sips of water, then slowly continue. And with what energy we had left, we made it to the top just as the sun was beginning to rise.

What we saw spread out in front of our eyes was natural beauty that seemed to relieve fatigue. Naturally, if there are those who give the nickname Dieng Village as the Land Above the Clouds, from above there are very beautiful clouds.
