I love to travel, because there are many places to visit in Istanbul, I want to visit every part of it. I think I did it like that, there is no place I haven't visited, except for a few places. After preparing and having breakfast with my cousins and nephews, we got ready to go out.
Historical places in Istanbul, there are so many green places, every place is beautiful, especially the galata tower, I am a fan of this tower, the story of this tower impresses me, I really shudder. I would like to tell you as much as I know, I hope you are not bored
WHERE DOES GALATA TOWER GET ITS NAME?
the Galata Tower, it was called Megalos Pyrgos (Great Bastion) in the Byzantine Period, Christtea Turris (Jesus Tower) in the Genoese period, and its current name is learned from Galata, the neighborhood where it is located.
What does Galata Tower do?
Galata Tower, which has been used for security and surveillance purposes since the 19th century, has survived until today with the restorations it has undergone. In 1962, it was evacuated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on the grounds that it was life-threatening, and it was repaired and started to be used for touristic purposes.
