Hello dear steemit family I am from
Cameroon in Africa. This is my entry for the local food competition.
The meal I will be sharing with you today is called green and Irish potato. It's a local food know in the english speaking part of Cameroon. It takes about and hour to prepare it. It's not a difficult meal.
Firstly, the vegetable we use in making the soup is called green.
HOW TO PREPARE GREEN
- I remove the leafs from the stem and sliced into very small slizes.
- I make the required spices for the green( dried fish , tomatoes, onion, garlic , ginger,Maggi ,salt and oil.
I put the green in a bowl of warm water to wash it , and I use a colender to drain it.
I fry tomatoes and onions in groundnut oil, and later add grinded ginger and garlic, with the dried fish.
I mix the Maggi and salt in the green with a spoon and I add it in to the pot and stair with a cooking spoon untill it got fried and ready.
THE IRISH POTATO
- I peal the back part of Irish potatoes and wash.
- I put water in a pot and I add the Irish potatoes in it and boil till it gets ready.
- I serve the food for the family and I eat my share.
