Staying well in this heat has become difficult. But you have to try to stay well. It is better not to go out unless necessary in extreme heat. As I am a housewife, I don't need to go out much. Friends, a few days ago I went to Sagardani, the birthplace of poet Michael Madhusudan Dutta, for some light entertainment. Poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt was born on 25th January 1824 in Sagardandi village of Jessore district. The picture you can see below is the birthplace of the poet. Where I sat for a while I felt a different kind of calmness.

At the end of his school life, the poet was admitted to the Hindu College of Calcutta. While studying at this college, he developed a strong passion for English literature. In 1843, he was initiated into Christianity. Michael was added to his name

A strong interest in western life and a strong passion for the English language and literature inspired him to write literature in the English language. Later on, this mistake was broken by various difficult experiences in life. His poetic talent got the proper inspiration through writing poetry in the Bengali language.

The poet passed away on June 29, 1873 AD. His immortal achievement is 'Meghnad - Badh Kavya' His other poems are Tilottmasambhava Kavya, Virangana Kavya, Brajangana Kavya, and Chaturdashpadi Kavya. His dramas: Krishnakumari, Sharmishtha, Padmavati; and farce: What is civilization and the neck of the old salik.
