Hey guys. So, I have a new update on Steemcryptic this week. You can access this new version by heading over to https://www.steemcryptic.me
Problem:
Recently, @sapwood brought forward a new kind of trick used in the cryptoacademy by a few users. Some users submitted their assignments for a Beginner or Intermediary levels and once their post was rated by the respective professors, they would then change the main tag to one of the advanced level assignments. This would mean that they would receive a higher value vote from @steemcurator01.
To spot this, the professors would need to go back in history to see the edits to the tags or the title on steemworld which would mean a lot of time used in just finding the edits.
Additionally, there were a few users who would create posts before the endtime of a particular assignment and would later edit it before it was rated. If the edit made was a small correction, then it should be fine. However, there have been instances where the edits have been a complete rewrite of the entire post. So, it is very important to also know the time of edit on the post.
Solution:
Scribe now displays the Title, Metadata as well as the time of a particular edit. This would help the professors in identifying the changes made in a post and the time of such change. This would help minimize the risk of users cheating to get a higher upvote.
New format on Scribe
The format would be as seen in the screenshot above. The time over here is in UTC and not the local time of the user.
These new fields have been retrieved from the SDS post history API provided by @steemchiller. There are no new API calls made in achieving this. So, the time it takes to load would be the same as it previously did.
Future Improvements:
I am also working on adding comment stats to the Community stats tool on Steemcryptic. This would be very useful for anyone wanting to retrieve the engagement stats. This is why I have put my DApp development on hold for about a week. Once I have the stats up, I will be getting back to the DApp.
