According to the official statement made by Ripple, Global Miney Express Co. LTD will join RippleNet through Thailand's most popular bank, Siam Commercial Bank. The following comments were made in the announcement:
Formed through SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture between SBI Holding and Ripple, this partnership will accelerate and scale payments from South Korea to Thailand.
📌RippleNet is already hosting several South Korean banks to bring ODL, one of its most common products used in cross-border payment corridors, to Thailand. Subash Chandra Poude, GME Chief Operating Officer, said on behalf of the partnership:
We have reached a partnership agreement with Ripple because we have the opportunity to enter new countries within 1-2 weeks with RippleNet. This step significantly shortened time to market and gave us an edge over our competitors.
#GME was also working to expand its reach using additional remittance corridors globally, including across the region, including Europe and the USA.
Emi Yoshikawa, Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Operations at Ripple, stated that the demand for Thailand corridors has increased exponentially as people need to send money around the clock.
