I would love to respectfully say that this is a joke. I'm placed on a copyright infringement list because of a photo that is taken from Pexels website and is allowed for public use, which I claim no credit for.
Additionally, I'm also a student, with a significant level of education, and I understand plagiarism, and on all of my sites, I've done my best to uphold all those laws. I've even placed a disclaimer about photo use on my blog.
Last, in academia, before being accused of violation of copyright laws, students are asked and questioned. There's an investigation. There's rarely ever an accusation, without due process.
I think that it should be noted here that individuals should be asked and questioned prior to assumptions. This makes the platform look bad, and honestly, makes me not want to use it. I'd rather stick with my other projects and platforms, if I have to worry about this type of behavior from people, I can't help if a company uses a photo from a website that allows for free use of their photos.
I hope you take my concerns into consideration. I will continue giving Steemit another shot, uploading content that helps people who struggle with mental health, substance use, suicidal udeations, or just every day stress, and hopefully we can work this out.

Nice to see, you are here with your issues. So, first off all you should use proper image source. I know you are aware about all kind off rules and regulations.
When you use copyright free image for commercial use. In that time, you should use your image source. I think you know it. Alas! you didn't done it.
