Dozens of Junior High School Students in Bireuen Participate in Journalism Knowledge Briefing.

Dozens of students from State and Private Junior High Schools (SMP) in Bireuen were very enthusiastic about participating in the Journalism Training.

The activity, which was held by the Junior High School Development Division of the Bireuen Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud), lasted for two days (19-20 November 2024) in the Wisma Bireuen Jaya Meeting Room.

With the theme of Forming creative and critical young journalists through journalistic ethics, the activity procession was officially opened by the Head of the Bireuen Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud), Muslim, M.Si, in Room Meeting 5 Wisma Bireuen Jaya, Tuesday 19/11/2024.

In his direction, the Head of the Bireuen Education and Culture Office, Muslim asked students to seriously participate in the journalistic knowledge briefing through journalism training, which was held for two days.

"The knowledge obtained from the speakers is expected to be implemented," hoped Muslim.

In addition, Muslims also hope that after this training, students can become creative and intelligent young journalists in producing journalistic works in their environment.

Previously, the Acting Head of Junior High School Development at the Bireuen Education and Culture Office, Zamzami, S.Pd., M.M reported that this journalism training activity was attended by 65 participants.

The participants consisted of students from public and private junior high schools in Bireuen Regency, each school sent one student as a participant.

Zamzami said that the activity was carried out for two full days from November 19 to November 20, 2024, in the Wisma Bireuen Jaya Meeting Room.

With the aim of developing writing skills, critical thinking and understanding the basics of journalism among students.

"And to develop students' skills in the field of journalism," he explained.

The expected results of this activity are to spur students' creativity in writing and reporting news.

Then, equipping students with good literacy skills, especially in journalism so that they become young journalists who are critical and have integrity.

"At the end of this training activity, five best works will be selected," said the Acting Head of Junior High School Development at the Bireuen Education and Culture Office.
