Some days it’s easy, and some days it isn’t.
Some days I look down at my pedometer and I’m shocked. Without doing anything, or so it seems, I’m over 5,000 steps and heading toward 10,000. Other days, like today, I look down at my pedometer and I’m shocked in a different sort of way. While putting in what seems like loads of effort and intention (leaving the house at 4 AM to start the day with a nice walk, and doing plenty of housework), I’m barely over 3,000 steps. How can that be? I think to myself.
Years ago, it seems like now, before the Corona pandemic began, I spent a couple years losing weight and getting in shape. While I haven’t gained all of the weight that I lost back, I’ve definitely let myself go a bit. In an effort to start doing something about this, I put my running shoes on today and ran my old route for the first time in too long. It was tough, and I walked most of it, but I got my 10,000 steps in (and it’s only 4:00 PM). I’m feeling happy about that.
