Sun sinking over the sea
And the peaceful evening fire was
swallowed by the sea wave.
The Sunset
His circle drawing clearer and clearer, The
sun was sinking over the sea,
And in the sea the strip of lights,
answering Him, diminished.
Where the spell of twilight and sleep
Already breathed over the east,
The dead moon rose With
some thirsty reproach.
On along the clouds, like a dress,
Iridescent spots sparkled,
And in the
pale blue expanse A pre-sunset blush was pouring.
