My Actifit Report Card: June 20 2024

I'm relaxing right now checking out ultramarathon prospects for this year after a nice hike through the trails this afternoon. Lulu wasn't in the mood. It seemed to do much on this hot day, so it gave me the opportunity to go faster.

The whole family went out for a morning walk but since my wife still has a lot of hip pain and weakness our pace was very slooooòw which suited Lulu fine ( gave her plenty of opportunities to sniff and pee) but not so much for me.
That wasn't a problem as these walks are just to get loosened and let Lulu take care of her doggy business
I had planned for us to hike the Thumb Butte loop but Lulu didn't want to come, so instead I traveled a few miles up the road to the Javelina trailhead and took off on obe one the main trails there.

These trails are very popular with cyclists so they're easy to follow and not difficult. The trail wound around the hills with plenty of rolling terrain but not a lot of total elevation gain. There was often a nice breeze but that seemed to mostly just move the hot (over 90 degrees) air around so I made sure to drink plenty of water along the way.

The last mile was the hardest as the trail gradient became steeper and my legs were beginning to feel the effort but once I hit the wide open Javelina Trail it was a welcome easy stretch back to the trailhead.
Hopefully my body will recover easily tonight and I can train well again tomorrow.
