Christmas Holiday is my favorite holiday for the year. Family and friends come together, and there are lots of food, drinks, and parties. As a family, we have grown and changed a lot. Back then, we put up Christmas trees and lights, Christmas hats and Christmas-colored theme clothes, and everything else we could possibly do. We also played Christmas carols on our DVD back-to-back. It was a festive time.
Now, we don’t celebrate Christmas anymore. Rather, we celebrate Thanksgiving, for familial reasons. While we no longer put up a Christmas tree, lights and music, we still eat, drink, and dance. Only for the sake of Thanksgiving. We share food with our neighbors and accept their food, we go to church for Thanksgiving. We visit people and people visit us. A lot of things remain, just not the culture of Christmas.

My family and loved ones by this time of the year are somewhat amped and down. While there are celebrations, there are thoughts of how well we closed the year. Which is why the end of the year’s festivities are a wonderful idea. It sets a precedent for the following year, keeps you upbeat when the year closes in and when the new year rolls in. A global celebration at the end of the year, every year, is so thoughtful and heartwarming. Though celebrated as uniquely as the individual, it marks the end of a good year, whether or not the year agrees.
My family also has the habit of rearing chickens two months before the holiday. When the time comes, Chickens (live or not) are considerably expensive. It has now become a yearly habit. An amusing one. This is a close-up picture of my family’s picture in the backyard. But really, I hope a lot of people rear chickens for the sake of the holiday as well. This isn’t weird at all.
