"What I didn't expect from 2024."

If I was told 2024 would be a difficult year I would have doubted it because of the promises made by the current administration of government in Nigeria. I never expected hardships in 2024, nor did I see and hear millions of Nigerians complaining of hardships in the country.

Everyone was expecting to see solid economic policies, growth, and acceleration in Nigeria, but it was unfortunate that the year 2024 was seen as the most difficult year since Nigeria gained its independence in 1960. The hardships started from the removal of fuel subsidies that caused the increase of goods and services in the country.

The hardships and suffering that millions of people are going through in the country lead to mass protests or bad governance in the northern part of Nigeria. I never expected to see people in the northern part of the country protesting for hardships and bad governance as the vice president is from the north, but it was unfortunate that thousands of people in the north came out to protest which is to show how bitter they are.

Positive change was what I was expecting to see in the country, but to my greatest surprise, all the changes were bad for common Nigerians are people started finding it so difficult to eat three square meals in a day. People hardly go to work because of the cause of transportation, due to fuel prices.

Also, I was expecting to start my business in 2024, but it was unfortunate for me that I couldn't start it despite how I had prepared myself for it. Well, it wasn't my fault the poor economic policies in the country are the reason why I couldn't start it. I didn't expect 2024 to be a difficult year for me, but it was and I am hoping that 2025 will be a favorable year for me, my family, friends, and everyone.
