Content especially on steemit is interesting when people read and comment on your post. I am happy the steemit team and curators recognizes good comment and gives reward for it, Do you like to comment?

What do you think is necessary to do in order to comment? Will it be necessary to read first or not?

The necessary things to do in order to comment is to

• Discover your post interest. No matter how Fanciful or eye catchy a post is if is not of the readers interest,he may read and pass without commenting.

• Read and understand. Without thorough reading and understanding it's difficult to make meaningful comments at the end. Hence you need to read first.

• Discovering any question/ argument from the post. If there are questions or any arguments in a post it will prompt reader to comment.

It is very necessary to read first before commenting,so that your comment will be in line with the post or topic of discussion.

Is commenting just repeating things that have already been written? Or is it referring to something else? What do you think about this?

Commenting is not necessarily repeating things that have already been written,it goes beyond that, there are so many things a good commentator needs to put in place.

• Correction. There are bloggers who write in a hurry maybe to meet up or something else, in this case after reading and you discover any error it's good to point them out for correction.

• Recommendation. Copying back the writeup should come with recommendation, if the reader discovers any word that made you want to read multiple times it is important to recommend it to the writer.

• Suggestions. Some post after reading needs some suggestions which will go a long way to motivate the writer to do more , this suggestion can be included in the comment section.

What should a comment contain for it to be attractive, interesting, or to make you want to go see what that person writes?

I remembered when I was a newbie I was taught how to comment meaningfully , that's making comments like nice post , Lovely post and the likes was a No No. In order to make a good comment on a post it should contain the following.

• Engagement. People who make engaging comments receives more attention because when they comment something that brings others in it exposes them the more.

• Meaningful. Like I said Nice post is not counted as meaningful comments,as such your comment must be meaningful, it must connect with the topic, it should be something you understand from reading the post.

• Include examples or your personal experience. Attractive comment can include sharing related life experiences from what the writer wrote or giving some examples that connect with the post.

• Show your appreciation. Writers appreciates their reader when they get feedbacks that affect their lives from the reading. Good comment can include appreciation.

• Ask questions. There's no bad thing in asking related questions after reading a post in the comment section , it should you read the post and needs some clarification. Therefore a good comment includes asking questions.

Sometimes making quality comment can be tiring,but as an active steemian and moderator I tried as much as possible to comment on people's post. This week I have made more than 6 comments below is one I made under @ngoenyi post and she replied immediately.

Getting her response is not surprising because she is a good commenter , since I knew her she barely snub any comment under her post.unless she is busy which I know she will definitely respond when she see the comment.

There are some comments that I didn't get any reply, I can't categorically say anything about the writer not replying maybe it was not engaging enough for a reply.

The narrative has changed everyone should form the habit of making good comments on users post. This post has awakened my spirit to do more on commenting. I'm sure there many who are guilty of not commenting.
