Hello, friends! Today I want to show you a wonderful place to visit if

you are in Bogota, Colombia.
It is located at: Carrera 2 Este No. 21-48 Paseo Bolivar.

¡Hola, amigos! Hoy les quiero mostrar un maravilloso lugar para visitar si estás en Bogotá, Colombia.

The trek started at 8 am, while we were waiting for the bus we had to take to get to the hill. It was raining that day, so it is very important to bring something to cover your hands, a sweater and an umbrella (you never know, the weather in Bogota is very volatile).

Comenzó la travesía a las 8 de la mañana, mientras esperábamos el autobús que teníamos que tomar para llegar hasta el cerro. Ese día estaba lloviendo, así que es muy importante que lleves algo para cubrir tus manos, un suéter y un paraguas (nunca se sabe. El clima de Bogotá es muy volátil).

We got to the entrance and there was a ticket booth to buy tickets. They were not so expensive, approximately 4$ round trip. From 5 a.m. the doors are open for those who want to climb the 1,605 that it has, only people who are in good physical condition can go up there (or at least what I heard from the guard), otherwise you can suffer spasms from the altitude and atmospheric pressure. For athletes, there is a special card that you can go up with a 50% discount on the funicular.
Once on the funicular, the view is very beautiful. The fear eats away at you because of the altitude, but I promise it is a unique experience.

Llegamos hasta la entrada y estaba la taquilla para comprar los tickets. No eran tan caros, aproximadamente 4$ la ida y vuelta. A partir de las 5 a.m. están abiertas las puertas para quien desee subir los 1.605 que tiene, sólo las personas que tienen buena condición física pueden subir por ahí (o por lo menos lo que escuché del vigilante), del caso contrario puedes sufrir espasmos por la altura y la presión atmosférica. Para los deportistas, hay una tarjeta especial que pueden subir con un 50% de descuento en el funicular.
Ya subiendo en el funicular, la vista es muy hermosa. El miedo te carcome por la altura, pero prometo que es una experiencia única.

We got to the top and to our luck, it was raining, but that didn't take away our excitement, but it did make us very cold. It was getting so cold that we couldn't move our fingers much. The roads were long and wide, the atmosphere was happy and warm (metaphorically speaking). When we arrived at the church, mass was beginning and we stayed to pray.

Llegamos a la cima y para nuestra suerte, estaba lloviendo, pero eso no nos quitó la emoción, pero sí nos dio mucho frío. Estaba haciendo tanto frío que no podíamos mover mucho los dedos. Los caminos eran largos y anchos, el ambiente era feliz y cálido (metafóricamente hablando). Al llegar a la iglesia, estaba iniciando la misa y nos quedamos a orar.

At the end of the mass we parted with a sculpture that caught our attention. As we approached there was a prayer, the name and who had made this sculpture. It turned out that it was a representation of the homeless Jesus. That made me feel sad, because it was a metaphor for the homeless, who wander for the rest of their lives.

Al acabar la misa nos separamos con una escultura que nos llamó la atención. Al acercarnos había una oración, el nombre y quien había hecho esta escultura. Resulta que era la representación de Jesús sin techo. Eso me hizo sentir triste, porque era una metáfora a las personas sin hogar, que vagan por el resto de sus vidas.

On the way we got hungry, so we set out to find a restaurant to eat. As we drove along the roads, we also enjoyed the view; the flowers smelled nice, the trees sounded harmonious and there was the crucifixion of Jesus too, made into sculptures.

En el camino nos dio hambre, así que nos dispusimos a buscar un restaurante donde comer. Mientras íbamos por los caminos, también disfrutábamos de la vista; las flores huelen rico, los árboles suenan armónicamente y estaba la crucifixión de Jesús también, hechas en esculturas.

On the way there were a thousand things to take home, among those I bought a fridge magnet from the hill. The vendors greet you with warm smiles and are very friendly.

En el camino había un millar de cosas para llevar a casa, entre esas me compré un imán para nevera del cerro. Los vendedores te reciben con cálidas sonrisas y son muy amables.

The restaurant where we ate was on the second floor. Imagine on a mountain (which is already high) a second floor and with glass walls. I couldn't deny that the view was spectacular, but my anxiety was greater hahaha.

El restaurante donde comimos quedaba en un segundo piso. Imagina en una montaña (que ya es alta) un segundo piso y con paredes de vidrio. No podía negar que la vista era espectacular, pero mi ansiedad era más grande ajajaja

Once we had all eaten we were no longer afraid and began to enjoy the views. The food was very tasty, we had picada which is what you can see in the second picture on the right. It comes with: chicken, beef, pork, avocado, banana, Colombian potato and as a courtesy of the house, they gave us soup. Everything was delicious and the condiments were very good, the real rolo flavor (which is how they call the people who live in Bogota). We even took pictures with the owner of the place.

Ya cuando todos comimos se nos fue e miedo y comenzamos a disfrutar de las vistas. La comida era muy sabrosa, nosotros comimos picada que es lo que pueden ver en la segunda imagen de la derecha. Trae: pollo, carne, cerdo, aguacate, banana, papa colombiana y cómo cortesía de la casa, nos regalaron sopa. Todo muy rico y condimentos muy buenos, el verdadero sabor rolo (que es como le dicen a las pertque viven en Bogotá). Hasta nos tomamos fotos con la dueña del local.

To get the food down, we continued walking and getting to know the place, because it is very big and you didn't know where to look because it is so beautiful, as I had mentioned at the beginning, it is better to wear sweaters.
The birds that were there made wonderful sounds.

Para bajar la comida, seguimos caminando y conociendo el lugar, porque es muy grande y no sabías dónde mirar de tan bonito que es, como había comentado al inicio, es mejor llevar suéters.
Las aves que habían ahí, hacían sonidos maravillosos.

Going to the final part we found a wishing well and to our surprise, there were tickets that were from our country.

Llendo a la parte final nos encontramos con un pozo de los deseos y para nuestra sorpresa,habían billetes que eran de nuestro país.

On the way back to the funicular, we came across a house, which is now a restaurant, and it must be a wonderful experience to eat there.

Llendo al funicular de regreso, nos encontramos con una casa,que ahora es restaurante, debe ser una experiencia maravillosa comer ahí.

On the way down, the sun began to set. It was a beautiful sunset that bathed the corners of every place it touched.

de bajada comenzó a caer el sol. Era un atardecer bonito que bañaba las esquinas de cada lugar que tocaba.
