African Love: Courtship in The Mother Land!
AFRICAN LOVE, AFRICAN HERITAGE

In honor of African Heritage, I thought it would be really cool to explore love from a different point of view. I always hear so many people compare love in cultures. "Asian Men never do that." "Hispanic Men are hopeless romantics." What do we compare our basis and ways of love to?

It's been noted that the African culture is deeply rooted with passion. Everything about it screams loud and proud! Even the Countries Flag is bold and full of color! So it's no surprise that our origins of love are strong and bold.

In some light research I discovered the African Male has been trained to be dominant in approaches to love. They feel aggression helps set the tone for the courtship being built.

Modern day black women are so independent that the word submission makes them cringe. It definitely stems from seeing stronger women endure love poorly.
I was amazed that when picking a mate in Africa, you don't pay attention to their wealth, education, or family dynamic, you pay attention to their charity work. How amazing is that right? You are measured on how much you've given back to your community and religious home.

Women are more focused on submitting to their spouses and catering to their needs, while baring children and raising future Queens and Kings. Pretty standard right? Not at all in our day and age.

African men take their love very seriously and are trained that having a union is sacred and meant to be maintained with immense caution and care.

I came across this African Proverb that I felt was so amazing:

Love, like rain, does not choose the grass on which it falls. ~~South Africa

Love with intent is what we need to get back to doing. We've fallen short here and like the proverb insinuates, love blindly, but fearlessly.

I continue to pray for my generation and hope we can dig deep and figure out ways to keep love strong, proud and bold like our ancestors wanted. Maintain the foundation they have set forth.

Keep Striving, and remember to

BE LOVE!

Definitely true. If she find any african man that genuinely loves her and cares for her, he'd treat her like the Queen she is and deserves to be.
