Dear Diary
I woke up this morning with a very bad new, it is 6:45 am when my phone rang, I got a call from my friend Michael Asije, he stayed at my place for a while before he traveled, on the call, he said I should be aware that his COVID result was out and it came out positive.
I got so scared, why this early this morning? the hospital told him to isolate as soon as possible and he thought it wise to let me know.
since I have been in contact with him I need to go under isolation until I get the result from my test.
at this point, i don't know what to do but the hopeful.
I went online and read about COVID 19 and its treatment, I found that If you feel sick you should rest, drink plenty of fluid, and eat nutritious food. Stay in a separate room from other family members, and use a dedicated bathroom if possible. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
Everyone should keep a healthy lifestyle at home. Maintain a healthy diet, sleep, stay active.
I went to the village market and I got yams, plantains, and ingredients to cook yam porridge.
I got back by 11:00 am and I went straight to the kitchen.
my breakfast was yam and plantain porridge.
Ingredients
- 1 tuber of yam washed and cut into chunky size cubes with a bunch of plantains
- 1/4 cup coarsely ground crayfish
- 2 medium onions chopped and divided
- 1 smoked fish washed and deboned optional
- 2 medium bell peppers coarsely blended
- 1 habanero pepper blended with the red bell peppers
- 3/4 cup palm oil
- Salt or 2 bouillon cubes to taste
- vegetable of choice chopped

- In a 6-quart stockpot put the yam chunks, add water to just about an inch below the level of the yam and plantain in the pot.

- Add in 1/2 of the chopped onions, crayfish, bouillon cube and bring to boil.
wait for the yam to cook - In a medium saucepan, pour in the palm and heat up, then put in the other 1/2 of the chopped onions, then pour in the * coarsely blended bell pepper and habanero pepper mix. Cook for about 3 minutes or until the moisture evaporates.
- pour in the sauce you made stir in and allow to simmer for another minute.
- Add in the chopped vegetables, stir in, and turn off the heat.
- Cover pot to allow the vegetables to cook in the residual heat.
- Serve warm and enjoy.

After breakfast I spent all day on my bed, I was feeling terrible and scared and just so I will take my mind off things I decided to play a game with my brothers.
that was majorly how I spent my day waiting patiently for my own result to come out.
I sure had a bad day!!
