My jummah always begins with a Janaba. It is a form of purification of oneself before the actual ablution. It is recommended for us to do so especially fridays before we leave our households for our Jummah salat. As for the ablution (cleanliness before prayers), I always prefer to do mine upon reaching the mosque. Many are those who do theirs at home but I think you might stain yourself not just physically but spiritually before reaching the mosque since we are not perfect beings. As such I mostly perform mine at the mosque.
We don't have a particular time we leave the house pn Fridays. This is becausr of reasons such as traffic, change in prayet times, etc. As such, my dad always tells us to be ready as early as possible. He has his ears on the streets and checks whether or not there is traffic or not. If there is traffic, we can leave before 11:30 a.m. If not we would leave after 12 p.m. Due to the road conditions (no traffic), we left at 12:15 p.m.
We go to the mosque around 1 p.m. and I went to perform my ablution. There were some Khuddam (young men) stationed at the entrance of the mosque. Their duty was to check temperatures of people entering the mosque. They would also make sure everyone wore their nose mask. Once that is done, they give you some hand sanitiser and then lead you towards the prayer line to ensure that you follow the social distancing protocols.
Once I entered the mosque, the main jummah sermon hadn't began. I use 'main' because we observe 2 sermons during Jummah; one from our spiritual leader of peace, and the other from our local Imam. It was very enlightening as he spoke about the need to acquire knowledge and life skills as spelt out in the Holy books. We then said the 2 rakats of Jummah and that was it.
On the way back home, we encountered a sandwitch joint which had this awesome looking sandwiches. They just looked incredibly sumptuous and were irresistible. We then decided to buy some and share amonst ourselves in the house. I decided to take mine as a dessert after supper. It was just as advertised and I will definitely visit there again.
This concludes my diary for today. Thank you for your attention.
