THE SHOPPING GAME : 12Th July 2020 - Sunday After Church

in hive-194804 •  4 years ago

Hello Dear Steemit Community & Friends, how are you all. Hope everything is fine.

Today went out for some small shopping after returning from Church. Following the boycott of our Thursday market, few items were bought for storage. We couldn't even buy meat and other small items. Tomorrow too is Monday, I need to prepare some little food in stock for my family. I need some items like rice, soap, washing power, yam, bread and other small items.

I first went to a nearby shop I last reported here. It is one of the shop you can find in our area. The shop keeper is called "Yesu Mmo," that's thank you Jesus, so the shop has been named after his guy name. Not all the items want to buy can be found here. But I went there and bought some of the items that I would get.

That is the shop in the display.

I bought Royal Aroma perfume rice, bread, sugar, roasted groundnut and kenkey from this shop. The image displayed below is my proof of purchased.

When I finished buying these items, I went to market and bought two tubers of yam from a certain woman.

The following is the summary of items bought in Ghana cedis as well as in Steem. Unfortunately since these are items are fast consumable the sellers don't issue receipts for us when we make purchases.

Hello @oppongk, whats happened in your city? you mentioned a boycott Thursday
I see that you get yam there, here in Venezuela too, and we use it to prepare soups commonly, here we have another local vegetable called "yucca", do you grow that there?

Yeah, because of social distancing, Thursday being the main market day has been cancelled. But any ordinary market you feel get some of these items, but not as cheap price compare the Thursday. Thanks for commenting.

Hi @oppongk it's great to go out weekly on purpose to buy grocery stuff but i must admit that you make every post with lots of details which makes it really intresting. I feel a little hesitated while capturing such photos like you did while exchange of cash with the owner of shop. Tell me the tips to your confidence bud😉 have a good day!

Really true, it has been a little bit difficult capturing photos without the permission of the owner. Sometimes I seek permission from them, at times too they become unaware especially places that we know ourselves. But one must be smart enough...hahahaha......!!!

Wow you did good grocery shopping. In your shopping you purchase tuber yam, first time I see and hear that word too. Hear we don't get like those yam my friend.

Hope it is in good taste.

Enjoy your day.

I went to market and bought two tubers of yam from a certain woman.

I got to know about "yam" for the first time from your post. Never heard before. But what appears to me is that it is similar to other "root vegetables" that we eat.

For instance, in my locality "root potato" is very famous and widely available.

I guess..."yam" maybe something similar to that.

Here also there are many informal sectors(like small shops, street vendors, hawkers, etc) who don't hand out a bill and the middle class relies upon them for their daily needs.

I personally go to the shopping mall, supermarket, as well as street vendors, depending upon the needs(what I want to buy), ongoing offers in supermarkets, etc.

Happy shopping day.

Steem on.

Congratulations, you are a winner in The Shopping Game.

Here is an extra upvote to cover the cost of your shopping.
