THE SHOPPING GAME : 21/072020 - Shopping After School

in hive-194804 •  4 years ago

Hello lovely Steemians, good evening to you all. Our love and passion continue to grow intensely because of the motivation @steemitblog and @steemcurator01 are showing us. It is good to have you Guys around. I see the shopping game becoming more and more interesting like the Diary Game, despite the fact not all times that some of us show up in purchases but at least most Steemians are consistence in their purchases. Thanks to All!

Today I happened to make some purchases after school. These are mini grocery of daily needs: "tooth paste, yam, onion, cocoyam leaves and palm nuts." Unfortunately, I couldn't get receipts for my shopping. That's one thing Ghana marketers are lacking, but not all. Some items like provisions and foodstuffs sellers don't value receipts, that is why I always try to get some pictures of the seller when bargaining.

I first came to Me. Frimpong's shop to buy the tooth paste, of course I like that brand of "Pepsodent" which weighed 175g. The price was Ghc 6.00, this in US Dollars gives you $1.02, convert this to Steem gives you $7.08

I then moved along Nsuta street, where yams are sold here. Recently the sellers are scattered because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Most of them don't go to the market centre. Here, I bought one tuber of yam to support the CIC rice I last purchased. Depending on you money, you can buy any quantity. They have 3 heap for Ghc 25, some for Ghc 20. But I wanted only one tuber and that was Ghc 7. 00, this in Dollars is $1.19, convert to Steem gives you $8.26. I paid her while she exchange for my balance.

I was received my balance of Ghc 13 when i gave her Ghc 20.

I walked to the market inside where I bought palm nut. I know most of my friends here were asking why we like palm nut soup. Yes it is true. These palm nuts are very good for our health, they provide us with vitamin A which are good for our eyesight. Apart from this, they are also easily to get and cheap too. The nuts are use for palm oil. To avoid eating too much oil foods like groundnut which in excess can clot in our adipose tissues, we need to substitute it with these palm fruits. So I purchased Ghc 2 from the woman to add to the one I last bought. In conversion to the US Dollars gives you $0.34, and in Steem gives you $2.36.

I ended my purchases with that woman who was selling onions and cocoyam leaves. I bought onion Ghc 2 and cocoyam leaves Ghc 1. All summed up to be Ghc 3, in US Dollars is $0.51, convert this to Steem gives you $3.54.

It's a very nice shopping.

You take very good shot of those palm nuts. In our country generally we don't eat these. We use it's oil. Because the palm oil comes with very cheaper rate than others. But our doctors said the palm oil is not good for health.

I never taste any tuber. Because it's not available.
We called cocoyam leaves as Kocu Pata.

Thanks for sharing you shopping experience.
greetings from @tarpan

Thanks for coming round. But I know of palm nut soup to be very nutritious since it contains vitamin A.

You are welcome

i have been meaning to ask you sir, how do you cook yams?

Also how many kids go to the school?

Great post as always brother - have a good day

Thanks a lot for commenting. Yam is cooked by peeling it, cutting it into slides, washing into silver that you want to cook in, adding normal quantity of water and salt, then you boil on fire.

That would be like how we cook potatoes but no fire, do you have potatoes over there?

sorry for silly questions i am just curious

Yes, we have plenty potatoes here, and I like them!

You have beautiful money in your country;). And the sellers, despite the hot climate, are dressed very warmly. Aren't they hot? It's so interesting to watch people from other countries! Girls have many, many braids in their hair! Yams never tasted, but I heard that such a dish exists. And another question, is it true that you do not have winter and cold, snow?

И мне это интересно.

Here palm oil is very popular and cheap, although we import them from other countries. Malaysia a country very popular for palm oil production and one of big exporter of palm oil to various countries.

However, I personally do away from refined oil, especially palm oil. I mostly rely on other types of oil like mustard oil, peanut oil, olive oil, etc. That said, I am not saying palm nut soup is bad, that might be healthy, although I am not an expert in that.

Pepsodent brand toothpaste is a very popular brand in India too and many people use that regularly. However, I use "Patanjali" brand toothpaste.

Your overall shopping looks very reasonable.

Have a nice day.

Steem on.
