I’ve been on a little habits kick lately. I feel like the older I get, the more I’m realizing how much my habits determine how I spend my time and whether or not I achieve my goals. And one of the most important sets of habits that affects how my day plays out is my morning routine.
If I’m a mess in the morning, I feel like I spend the rest of the day trying to catch up. If I am able to be intentional about my mornings, the rest of my day tends to go more smoothly as well. Because of this, I’ve developed a little “morning routine checklist” to help me stay on track.
When i woke up from bed, i kept phone somewhere other than on my nightstand or table.
I realized a while ago that having my phone plugged in right beside the bed on my nightstand was way too big of a temptation for me. I would end up staying up later browsing social media aimlessly, and the first thing I would do in the morning was grab my phone and start browsing aimlessly again…
I had my morning meditation and immidiately i was done, I head intothe bathroom and grab a shower and get ready for the day. The last thing I did before going to work in the morning is make my bed. It only takes a few minutes, and it starts off the day on the right foot. I also love coming into my room to get ready to bed and having a bed that’s made up and tidy.
Trekking on foot for about 1:30 minutes got me really exhausted by the time i arrived at the office. When i got to the office, i was already 1 hours late but my boss is also aware of what is happenning in town so he was not angry with me for coming late for work. When i was in the office, i rested for some time(about 30 minutes) to regain some energy after the long walk from home. Due to this, it therefore means that i have to work overtime so as cover up with the lost time because i am paid per hours i put in work.
I set up my machine, plan of action, my to-do list for the day.
Of course i knew it was practically impossible to get all the above mentioned task completed in a day, but it good to state them down so as to know what awaits me.
After sitting in front of my laptop for about 4 hours straight, i had a short break to relax my self.
As sad as it may sound, upon playing this game for the past 6 months, im yet to hit the eye. I told my self that when ever i hit it, i will stop playing the game. I hope i will keep to my promise.
When i was done, i resumed back to my work, and by the end of the day, i manage to code about 5 features of the website and created all the pages.
By 5pm, i had to close considering the fact that i have to trek from the office again back home. By 6:30pm, i was home, i had a cold shower again and rested for the day.
