Hello everyone, how are you doing today? I hope everyone around here is doing all great, I welcome you to a new season of the Steemit engagement challenge, here on, I shall be participating in the Steem Cameroon community to join the contest theme: My view on Cyber Bullying, Good luck!!.

What is my Understanding of Cyber Bullying

I believe cyber bullying is what everyone who uses the internet will have come across one way or the other, it can be composed in whatever way we see fit to, and there is no way one can escape it as long as you are a victim of the internet.

The word Cyber means the Internet space, which is a virtual environment where everyone all around the world connects, it is where you meet people of different tribes, different races, and cultures, but regardless, it is already part of our world and there is nothing we could do about it or avoid it.

Cyberbullying is the act or a scenario whereby other individuals threaten their fellow internet users, this could either happen in a way that user data is being manipulated, a user is being cajoled into a false website, or a user is being trapped to engage in illegal activities through the internet.

Most cyberbullying we don't see coming unless we get closer to them, there was some days ago when I heard that a particular famous application with more than a million users has been selling its users' data, this as well is an example of cyberbullying, and such actions should be disregarded by every means necessary as users data are being threatened and as well manipulated all around the internet space.

Have you ever been a Victim of Cyber Bullying

Yes, just recently, I was a victim of cyberbullying which was a horrific experience for me, I thought I was smart enough to have never been a victim of such, but I have come to the understanding that we can't all be careful enough as there are people who have dedicated their lives into outsmarting others by scamming them, and it's of an issue that such people tend not to see beyond the light.

This happened to me when I wrongly deposited one of my exchanges to binance using the wrong memo, then it reached out to binance customer service and complain, the next day my assets were returned to the exchange, and this spiked as good news to me, then I reached out to the exchange, they seem to have a poor customer service, then I had gone to their page on Twitter instead to log the complaint in their DM, getting there, I got a message from their support service.

Little did I know that this support service was a scam, I was so engaged in other activities that I was not paying full attention, then the support service ask me to log out of the exchange app and log in again, and the moment I did that, he had gained access to my wallet without me knowing, just in some seconds, he had penetrated through my wallet and exchange all my assets to Tron, he then makes the transfer to another wallet, this saddens me a lot as I felt so bullied and being played off, it was indeed a sad experience of cyberbullying to me.

Give an instance (if any) wherein you or someone you know felt bullied in cyberspace, and what spiked such a feeling. (It could be throughout any social platform)

I explained this earlier when I was bullied, it occur due to the reason that I made a mistake when depositing Steem to My binance, which in this case, binance refunded back the asset but yet it didn't reflect in my wallet.

That was what spike me to went ahead and lodge a complaint on the receiving exchange, but to my surprise, I was scammed in the process, I had explained the details of how my wallet was outsmarted, and this left me saddened for days as all of my crypto assets were gone, and this was when I had realized that my 2FA has not been activated all this while.

This occurred through the Twitter platform, where the user gave me a link to log in to the website so I could lodge my complaint, and the moment I did that, he overrode my access to the wallet and went away with all the assets, its a bullying experience have learned and have told others on how to avoid such, the next day I made a post regarding Crypto scams and How to Avoid Such | My Experience.

How did this encounter affect this said person?

This encounter affected me for days, and I keep replaying the moment and how I was being played, it's very surprising to me and everyone around me that how can a crypto expert such as me could outsmart in crypto cyberspace, I just laugh for a bit and was very sad that I couldn't even make a post on steemit for a day or two.

It was a bitter experience, and the reason he was able to succeed was that I was not paying full attention to the details he was requesting of me, and again, I was a little bit engaged on a phone call with a friend during the whole process, because I know for a fact that if I was being super active, I would have gotten the notification of when the transaction was going on.

The theft was really a sad experience, and this first made me doubt my skills if am worthy enough to be called a crypto expert, because how can a simple low-life crypto user outsmart my wallet just like that, but I guess I have learned my lesson to be extra careful next time, and whenever I am dealing with cryptos, I should always give it 100% of my attention.

How safe do you feel on Steemit? And have you ever felt bullied at any point in time? (on Steemit)

I feel safe on the steemit platform, it is a decentralized social media blockchain where you meet friends all over the world, there is no cause for alarm about cyberbullying, everyone around is minding their business and not poking around to outsmart or scam other users.

Steemit is indeed a great platform, there are situation whereby some bots comments on users' post tending to cajole them to sign up on a website or send steem to so so so, and immediately this is gotten, the community MOD will mute such user and they would no longer have any access to the user's page on the community again, this is a fantastic idea of top-level security and I so much wish other platforms could embrace such level of security as such as steemit own.

What lessons did you gain from such a scenario? And what advice can you give to your audience?

Prior to my scam experience, I have learned that in as long as crypto is concerned, never click any link telling you to do this to receive a reward, because I believe no one is nice to want to just dash your assets for free, so in this case, there is always a way out, such as blocking the user or reporting their page, and you could as well mute them.

The others have learned is that you should always pay full attention when dealing with cryptos, this would make you foresee any illegal activity, and be more vigilant as well, a cyber bully is not as difficult to detect, as long as you are not looking for how to double your investment, or you are not looking for a quick rich scheme, I believe you will be safe and steer off cyberbully.

Regarding my post, to keep yourself safe from cyberbullying or theft, it is best to set up two-step verification on all of your accounts, so that in such cases, other users won't be able to hack your data or manipulate them.

Sadly that was great scam with you. Yes you don't have to trust anyone giving you any link, or other stuff. Untill the sender is not your well known, and the link he is giving is also not your well known. Again it's sad to have such experience by loosing your assets.

yeah, it is very sad, and this actually happen due to the fact that I wasn't paying attention at that moment, if not, I would have been able to tell the difference between the interface.

Thanks for your contribution..

This is a nice write up from you. You have given your understanding on cyber bully and I really enjoyed going through your post.

Wish you the very best in your Contest

Thank you,

Cyber bullying is a big disease that must be eradicated, because the perpetrators of cyber bullying are people who are never responsible.

I also share about Cyber bullying, if you have time please see it and I am very happy.

sure I will check your article out as well, there are a lot of scammers that that's what they do for their daily activities, it's so sad and pathetic for them to have such a life.

It quite pathetic hearing this sad story from you. We should be more careful in clicking on links because that is the new way of scamming people and when their plans do not work they will then device a way to bully the victims. You have done well by participating.

Thanks, dear, yeah they operate through links as well, and in this way, users won't know that they have already given access to these perpetrators.
