A Joyful Moment At Akwa Ibom State Christmas 🌲 Carol Festival

Season greetings to everyone.

Friday 13th December, 2024 was a Joyous moment in the lives of Akwa ibomite. On this day, it was set aside for the people of Akwa Ibom State to come together to sing, praise and thank God Almighty for is divine mercy towards us as individual, family and as a state, and to also celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ the one who sustains us.

Before this day, awareness was carryout on television, Radio, flyers, flex on the roads and many more. As an Akwa ibomite, I said to myself no matter how busy and tire I will be on this day, I will join my own state known as the land of promise to celebrate the coming of our savior.

Very happy the starting time was from 6:00pm. After coming back from my day activities, have my dinner, rest for 40minute, I got dress and aided to Unity Park at Udoudoma where the event will take place. Close to the venue, I heard sounds of music in the atmosphere, the entrance very busy as people move to and fro and the Christmas lights shining all round.

Entering the entrance of the event, I saw a group of brass band rehearsing their song, different groups of people with uniform, the chorister, protocols, security personnel and the citizens of Akwa ibomite as well.

Wahoo 😲 finally in the arena, seeing different people, Adult, elderly, childrens, babies, pregnant women, feeling happy. It was a crowded ground event. Gladly, I joined the excited mode by singing and displaying some dance steps.

When I got tire, I go round to find a very comfortable place to sit. Luckily, I found a very damsel lady which I jokily ask for her permission to seat close to her. We sat together and enjoy ourselves on the program of the event. Immediately our dear Governor arrived, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno PhD, the Moderator of the event Barr. Morgan sort for the National and the state Anthem to be sing and this was properly directly by the brass band group then the opening prayer was led by Arch. Bishop Emma isong.

Congregational hymns was taken by everyone present, with title : O come all ye faithful. After that Praise and worship song was led by David morgan & Uto Essien in which people who wishes to feel with much Joy of the Christmas season carol festival shows their different dance steps.

Along the line, it lay in my heart to talk with the lady that sit close to me about steemit platform. Surprisedly, I was happy when I asked her if she is a steemian and she said yes. Oh my gosh 😂, I never thought of it. That's great, how long are in the platform, she told me for months now, wahoo, meeting her was a double joy to me.

We exchange pleasanties, our username, contact and became very free and relax. As a old steemian, I encourages her to be consistent in the platform, learn, feel free and make friends as well. This steemian am referring to is @deelyt, though we meet for the very first time but she is an amazing soul. We continue to enjoy the rest of the program.

In the Christmas Carol festival, different groups, Choir, dignities, musician artist were present. Musician such as David morgan, Uto Essien, Jimmy 'D' psalmist, Steve Crown, Eno Michael, Minister GUC,
Minister Buchi and numerous to mentioned were all there to make the Carol more colorful.

Different choir that will sing Christmas carols were also numerous. Some of the choir were Government house choir, harmony chorale, International worship center choir, Ekukinam chorale group,
Contemporary mass choir and
Catholic Mass Choir. Some of this Choir were up to five thousand (5000) choristers in number.

The Gov. Umo Eno PhD give his speech, urging all the Akwa ibomite to be happy and celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. He gave words of encouragement to his dear people, stated what he will do to benefits everyone. The governor in his generosity put a smile on the face of everyone by donating foods to villages to be shared. He also mention the theme of the year Carol festival as *** Peace and Holiness With All Men***, Hebrews chapter 12:10-14.

This was so great, each choir mounted the pulpit entertaining people with two songs. One in English Language while one is ibibio, my local language. At a point, I had to go since it getting very late so as to see viehecle back home. I left the venue by 11:10pm.
