Introduction

It has been a while since i participated in a contest, I'm glad i got to this one beforehand, the day i will be honored to commemorate is the Birthday of Unicef and as part of the contest guidelines i will be telling you a lot about this day so make sure you stick around to gain the knowledge about the birth of the Unicef

What do you know about the day?

Unicef or United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund is a charity created by the UN after the second world war. The UN realised after the war that there were so many children and mothers who needed support from all over the world due to the disasters caused by the world war. It was created 1 year after the war that is December 11th, 1946, it is the brain child of the United Nations and from the time of creation to now, this charity has aided millions of children from all over the world, helped with purification, providing medical aid, food, education, protection you name it. It is known as the most helpful charity, that is why we commemorate this day..

Propose and draw a mascot to represent the day.

The mascot I'm proposing is called Chumie,

Give a brief description of your mascot.

Chumie is a cute representation of the children that Unicef helps around the world, he has a ball belly, almost resembling the earth's globe and with the Unicef logo on his blue shirt and a little blue cap, this indicates the welcoming color of the Unicef charity, he bears a smily face which sparks love in the hearts of the people around.

What are the changes you think this day has brought to your community.

Unicef has done great things to my community. By providing aid to families of the internally displaced during this time of crisis, the birth of Unicef made lives to improve from critical to some how better this includes the provision of food and clean water, provision of blankets, tents for shelter.

Who are the active promoters, and what do you think can be added to have more impact on your community.

The active promoters of the Unicef worldwide and they provide support and funding to the charity. These include

• Maria Marshal
• Ashley Lashley
• Aniva Clarke

These are just a few named promoters who work and promote different departments of the Unicef....
